250 deaths recorded among people experiencing homelessness

AN estimated 250 people died while experiencing homelessness in Scotland during last year, according to new figures published by National Records of Scotland.
Says the NRS, here: “Midlothian, Glasgow City, and the City of Edinburgh had the highest rates of homeless deaths within Scotland, whilst Na h-Eileanan Siar, Orkney Islands, Perth and Kinross, and Stirling council areas recorded none.”
The NRS adds that 81 per cent of those who died were male and 60 per cent were aged under 45. And that the figure of 250 for 2021 was similar to the previous year, 2020.
