Almost 15,000 sign up for Scots litter picking campaign

ALMOST 15,000 people have signed up to take part in over 200 litter picking events around Scotland, according to the charity organising a nationwide litter picking campaign.

Says Keep Scotland Beautiful, here: “With Spring Clean 2023 beginning today (17 March), almost 15,000 people have confirmed their participation across 246 events. There are 73 schools registered with events happening in all 32 local authority areas.”

The announcement adds: “The Scottish Litter Survey, which we published in December last year, highlighted the negative impact litter is continuing to have across the nation. Litter remains a significant issue of public concern – with 67 per cent believing that litter is a problem in their local area, while 87 per cent that it is an issue across Scotland.”
