Appointments, etc, w/e August 18

WELCOME to a fairly new editorial thread on placedesignscotland.com: noting appointments, retirements, etc in the Scottish placemaking sector.

Bishop, Stephen – Appointed commercial manager at Paisley-based construction firm, JR Group. One of two appointments, the other being Eric Farren. Reported here;

Damian, Vasile – Appointed sawmill manager at timber products (such as biomass pellets) company, GMG Energy. Reported, here;

Farren, Eric – Appointed purchasing manager at Paisley-based construction firm, JR Group. One of two appointments, the other being Stephen Bishop. Reported here;

Linacre, Richard – Appointed director for life sciences & industry in the UK at Motherwell-based engineering consultancy, BakerHicks. Reported here;

MacGregor, Fiona – Appointed a non-exec director of The Housing Finance Corporation, which provides funding to the housing associations sector. One of two appointments (the other being Gail Teasdale), she is representing the Regulator of Social Housing on the board. Reported here;

McGurk, Paul – Appointed non-executive chair of Hub North Scotland, which describes itself as the “strategic development partner of choice for the planning, procurement and delivery of community-based infrastructure projects across the north of Scotland”. One of two appointments, the other being Richard Park. Reported here;

Nelson, Matt – Appointed landscape design and horticulture manager at Armstrong Gardens & Landscapes. One of two appointments, the other being Jack Verran. Reported here;

Park, Richard (pictured) – Appointed chief executive officer at Hub North Scotland, which describes itself as the “strategic development partner of choice for the planning, procurement and delivery of community-based infrastructure projects across the north of Scotland”. One of two appointments, the other being Paul McGurk. Reported here;

Teasdale, Gail – MacGregor, Fiona – Appointed a non-exec director of The Housing Finance Corporation, which provides funding to the housing associations sector. One of two appointments, the other being Fiona MacGregor. Reported here;
