Architecture team chosen for Venice Biennale arts festival

A CO-curator and co-director of a festival of architecture in Scotland has been named among the creative team to present Scotland’s entry into the architecture section of one of the world’s most prestigious arts festivals: the Venice Biennale.
Andy Summers is being joined for next year’s Venice Biennale by Architecture Fringe colleague, Neil McGuire. There are seven other members of the team – recruited from the Glasgow-based independent architecture magazine, ism, and an architects collective comprising people of colour, /other.
They are: Kristina Enberg, Amy McEwan, Aoife Nolan and Alissar Riachi (for ism magazine) and Alyesha Choudhury, Carl C.Z. Jonsson and Mia Pinder-Hussein (for /other).
Says the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, here, Summers is a member of the RIAS Council, the organisation’s main decision-making body.
The 2023 edition of La Biennale di Venezia will take place from May 20 – November 26.
The team was chosen by the Scotland + Venice Partnership, comprising Creative Scotland, British Council Scotland, National Galleries of Scotland, Architecture and Design Scotland, V&A Dundee and the Scottish Government.
