Entries call issued for regeneration awards

AN awards competition celebrating the best of regeneration in Scotland has issued a call for entries.
September 5 is the deadline for this year’s edition of the SURF Awards, which has five category titles up for grabs.
The regeneration forum is seeking entries in Community-led regeneration, Creative regeneration, Improving Scotland’s places (previously Scotland’s most-improved place), Supporting youth employment and Housing and regeneration.
This year’s awards have adopted the image of a penguin, to underscore its ambitions.
Says SURF, here: “Penguins evolved to become aquatic birds, rather than take flight, to better survive their habitat. In a similar way, to respond to community need, organisations and community groups have to remain nimble and adapt to the ever-changing environment in which they operate.”
