BEGINS the event blurb: “In the history of architecture. James Gibbs is widely recognised as one of Britain’s most important figures in the early 18th century.

“He is perhaps best known for St Martin-in-the-Fields church off Trafalgar Square, London or the Radcliffe Camera in Oxford. In Scotland, the West Kirk of St Nicholas is probably the only example of his design that survives.”
