BEGINS the event blurb: “Across the two days, we will be addressing Scottish issues in building and services design. An introduction by Adrian Catchpole, president-elect of CIBSE, will be followed by presentations on Day One covering a wide range of topics related to achieving CO2emission reductions and operational efficiencies.
“Topics will include ‘net zero’ healthcare, heat pumps, ‘smart buildings’, heat networks, a Passivhaus case study, and fire protection issues. Plus infection control in healthcare, and the impact of building regulations on design.
“Day Two is focussed on the Building Safety Act as it applies to Scotland. Topics will include Scotland’s response to Grenfell and building safety concerns, the introduction to the Building Safety Act and implications for Scottish practitioners, fire safety measures in Scotland and how they relate to English initiatives, BS8644-1 and digital fire safety information.”
