BEGINS the event blurb: “Scotland has a big challenge in tackling its legacy of vacant and derelict land and buildings.
“Prioritising bringing these unloved or neglected spaces into use can benefit local communities and support action on climate change, delivering environmental, wellbeing and economic benefits to the area.
“And as the Covid-19 pandemic changes the way in which we work and shop, we need to prevent a new legacy of vacant sites from being created.
“Land Reuse Week 2021 is a week-long programme of events from 22-26 February 2021 that will focus on how Scotland can transform its approach to tackling vacant and derelict land.
“All Land Reuse Week 2021 events are open to everyone with an interest in land re-use and regeneration, particularly practitioners, policy and decision-makers, and landowners.
“Each day will spotlight a particular theme including what immediate actions Scotland can take to address existing blight and how we can make land re-use the rule – not the exception.
“Sessions will focus on opportunities for aligning policy and funding with land re-use decisions as well as how we can embed a more proactive approach in our land and asset management culture.”
