Funding announcement due soon to further climate-friendly farming practices

A NEW round of funding is to be announced at the end of this month, to further climate-friendly farming practices, including organic production.

The imminent announcement follows news that 680 rural businesses in Scotland are sharing £14m seeking to protecting the environment and mitigate the impacts of climate change, including organic farming.

The funding is from a programme called the Agri-Environment Climate Scheme.

Says the Scottish Government, which is behind the scheme, here: “The forthcoming round will target agri-environment support, organics and slurry storage options, and will support the ambition to double the amount of land under organic management by 2026.”
