Funds boost for cycling projects

ALMOST 200 organisations throughout Scotland have been awarded a total of just over £2m, to create practical infrastructure to help make cycling safer and easier.
Exactly 194 organisations have been the beneficiaries of the funding – £2.063m (between last April and this month) – and include employers, health and social care providers, social housing residences, community groups, schools and campuses to make it easier and more accessible for more people to cycle.
Says national cycling organisation – the charity, Cycling Scotland – here: “The funding, from the Scottish Government’s ‘active travel’ budget… and has the potential to benefit more than 221,000 people and over 5,000 households.”
