House prices in Scotland

THE rate of house price increases in Scotland is estimated to be outstripping the UK average.
According to the Halifax House Price Index (here), the average price of a house in the UK is a record £267,587, following a year-on-year increase of 7.4 per cent (September 2020 to September 2021).
However, in Scotland, the average house price increase in Scotland, year-on-year, was 8.3 per cent, up to an average £188,525.
Meanwhile, the monthly percentage change in the UK, from August 2021 to September 2021, was 1.7 per cent – a 14-year high.
Elsewhere, in a separate announcement from Halifax (here), it is being claimed that house purchasers (in England and Wales) are prepared to pay a premium to acquire a home with high energy-efficiency standards.
