Interior design makeovers set for six Hebridean buildings

SIX buildings on the Hebrides are to undergo an interior design makeover, as part of a TV series to be broadcast later this year.

Following his win in last year’s BBC series, Interior Design Masters, Isle of Mull-based Banjo Beale gets his teeth into, among other projects, a family-owned fish shop in Tobermory, Mull, a bothy on the remote island of Ulva and a bookshop and café on the Isle of Skye.

His show, Designing the Hebrides, will air on BBC Scotland, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. Beale now operates his own interior design business.

The six-part series (6×30) is a co-commission for BBC Scotland and BBC Two, produced by DSP (a Banijay UK company).

Says the BBC, here: “Each week, Banjo and his design team embrace a unique interior design project, fulfilling the client’s brief on a limited budget and a fast turnaround. Set against stunning Scottish landscapes and amidst the challenges of hard-to-reach locations and extreme conditions, Designing The Hebrides showcases distinctive makeovers, encapsulating Banjo’s irrepressible enthusiasm, ingenuity and design flair.”
