Nature awards open for entries

ENTRIES are being invited for an awards competition celebrating the best of nature conservation.
The awards are described by their organisers – the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) – as a “chance to honour individuals and organisations making a difference in their local communities, businesses and schools to support Scotland’s iconic wildlife and fantastic landscapes”.
A deadline of May 30 has been set for ‘Nature of Scotland Awards’, with a new category included in the roster: Landscape restoration.
Says the RSPB, here, the context for the awards is a Scottish Government target to protect 30 per cent of Scotland’s land for nature by 2030.
