New electric vehicle charging points announced by Edinburgh council

A RAFT of new electric vehicle charging points have been announced for Edinburgh, by the city’s local authority.

A new batch of chargers and vehicle bays went live at the start of the month, across several residential streets in the city, including Maxwell Street (in Morningside – pictured) and Montgomery Street (near Easter Road).

The new locations are a mix of ‘fast’ and ‘rapid’ charging points – all about the speed of charging.

Says the council, here: “In total, 81 new chargers (141 charging bays) were installed and went live this summer across the city, including 41 rapid and fast chargers (72 bays) at on-street locations with the remainder provided at Hermiston and Ingliston Park and Ride sites.”
