Outdoor play expansion set for Scots children

SCOTS children are to be given more opportunities to enjoy outdoor play, following a decision to award over half a million pounds to 32 groups around the country, to expand their provision.

The funding – £550,000 from the Scottish Government – complements an announcement in March of £50m for children’s play parks – as reported here, on placedesignscotland.com.

Says the Scottish Government, here: “The Outdoor Community Play Fund will support children and families through the year, including during the school holidays.”

Seven of the recipient groups are Glasgow-based; similarly in Edinburgh.
