Planning permission said to have been submitted for south Glasgow site

A PLANNING application for 277 homes in the south of Glasgow is said to have been submitted to the local authority.

It follows a deal announced between house-builder, Cala, and the owner of land, in the Cathcart area of the city: US-based engineering company, Celeros Flow Technology.

Says a media release issued on behalf of both parties: “The Cathcart site is currently owned by Celeros FT and was previously used by its ClydeUnion Pumps business. The American-headquartered company appointed Cala Homes (West) as its preferred residential development delivery partner in October 2022, with an ambition to deliver a new-build residential development on the surplus land.”

The release continues: “If the planning application is successful, Cala will be looking to invest £67m into the site, which will secure over 1,000 jobs during the construction period, delivering an additional economic boost of over £6 million annually.”
