Public invited to scrutinise village housing proposal

THE PUBLIC is being invited to comment on a proposal to build approximately 70 new homes in the central Renfrewshire village of Kilbarchan.

Views are being sought by the developer, Cala Homes (West), at a public consultation event, next Wednesday, the 14th, at the local parish church.

Says a media release: “Cala Homes (West) submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) to Renfrewshire Council in May [this year] and is seeking to develop the currently unused plot of land that sits adjacent to Barrhill Crescent in the south-east of the village. The land has been allocated for housing by Renfrewshire Council as part of the Local Development Plan, approved in 2021.

“The proposed housing development will include a mix of private and affordable homes, with ample greenspace woven into the masterplan. Current proposals include approximately 70 three, four and five-bedroom homes, and affordable units.”
