Town centre regeneration plans unveiled

A SET of ambitions have been published, aiming to make our town centres more efficient, including reducing the need for car travel.

The aims are contained in a document, ‘Regenerating the future of Scotland’s town centres’, published by the Scottish Government, in support of climate change targets and to encourage economic resilience.

Says the Scottish Government, here: “New measures to revitalise town centres and regenerate local economies have been published.

“In response to last year’s review of the Town Centre Action Plan (here), a joint report by the Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities outlines actions to better embed a ‘Town Centre First’ approach to meet the needs of communities and tackle climate change.”
