Views sought on proposed re-imagining of west Edinburgh

VIEWS are being sought on a proposed re-imagining of the west of Edinburgh.

A trio of consultations have been launched by the local authority, including about transport links between the West Lothian town of Broxburn and the Maybury roundabout, along the A8 and near the city’s by-pass.

The three consultations are Towards West Edinburgh 2050 (here – closing October 10), West Edinburgh Placemaking Framework and Strategic Masterplan (here – closing October 4) and Broxburn to Maybury Public Transport and Active Travel Improvements (here – closing September 5).

All three consultations can be viewed together – here.

Says The City of Edinburgh Council, here: “The City of Edinburgh Council is asking residents as well as those working and visiting the area how they think it could grow sustainably for future communities to be better connected, cleaner, greener and fairer for all.”

The announcement continues: “These proposals could substantially develop the experience of living and moving around communities in the west of Edinburgh, helping the capital to shape future planning policy and become a ‘net zero’ [carbon emissions] city.”
